Update - Incoming Pledge Manager and other news!

Evening everybody!

We've been hard at work putting everything in to place and getting the final few bits sorted and ironed out! So, without further ado on to the update!

Pledge Manager

The Pledge Manager has been sent to Backerkit for them to approve and authorise it which can take around two days, so expect the Pledge Manager Email to be with all VERY shortly!

28mm Talos models

The 28mm Talos models have been completed and are below for your viewing pleasure! We're over the moon with how good these guys have turned out, true to the concept art and also their 15mm counter-parts. They stand at a head taller than the 28mm MTU and thus are a rather imposing squad on the battlefield!

28mm Pilot Model

The Kickstarter and Show Exclusive 28mm Pilot Model has also been completed, she comes with the option to have her armed with a pistol or holding her helmet and her head either with helmet or without. Again, a great model for the collectors and painters out there or for use as an Objective in your futuristic wargames! This also completes all models now, so all is heading in the right direction!

Plastic Injection Parts

We've now got all the gaming aides Injection tools produced  and test samples in plastic that are required! The bases, flight stands, tokens, manoeuvre template and stat-tracker are now complete and in production - Hooray! The final plastic items can be viewed below!

Ship Identification Stickers

The plastic re-peelable ship identification stickers are also going ahead nicely, these can be used to stick to the bases of your ships and their corresponding Stat-Tracker so you know which ship goes with which stat card. 

Ship Transfers

The Ship Transfers are almost complete, there was a slight delay on getting them finalised as we were advised on a certain format required for printing them but at the last minute found they weren't compatible. This has meant we've had to redesign the transfers from scratch. The Black is actually white on the final printed transfers (Honest!) The Final EEF one can be found here:

Shattered Void Rules Update

The current iteration of the rules have been updated so head on over and check them out below or on the main Campaign Page!

Dice and Pin Badges

The Dice and Pin Badges are currently in production, as soon as we have some of them with us we'll get you all photographs! These have been ordered, as the minimum order quantites far exceeds the number we will need, so dont need to collect numbers needed.

Good evening all,

First update since the kickstarter has finished (well kind of). 

Pledge Manager

The pledge manager is pretty much ready to go now, all. It will be submitted for approval, then the emails will start flying out to all. We Shall let you know the date soon :D.

With regards to purchasing extra pledges, each backer can purchase the same pledge that they have backed at, So a Squadron Commander (£130) pledge, can purchase and additional £130 pledge level. Only the Pilot Officer level cant purchase an additional pledge (it cheaper to upgrade your pledge to Flight Lieutenant).

You can also change your pledge level up, so if you backed at £1, you can then increase your pledge to level you wish.

Plastic injection Moulds

The last of the plastic injection tools has now been completed, these are for the manourve templates and the tokens. 

 These will be orange for the manourve template and red for the tokens. As you can see these are looking great. So that now completes all the plastic injection tooling for the campaign.... phew!

Damage Decks

Mark here at WDM has been working to make the damage deck look even more sweet, then next update we shall see if he is ready to show the precious to you all. Once these are all good and ready, they will go to the printers too.

Miniatures

Once the pledge manager is live, we will get a good indication of the models needed to fulfill all you lovely peoples pledges. These numbers can goto prodos and start getting them all made.

Rules

In the next coming days, the rules will be updated with all the newest additions for you to look over and play test. They had been planned to be done sooner, but with all the work to be done in the background and the day job, it proved a little too much. Fear not though, Over the bank holiday weekend, work shall progress on it.

Well i think that covers all angles for now. Keep your eyes peeled for the next update which im sure will show off some more good stuff!

6 hours to go! Last (Possibly) Stretchgoal! Exclusive Pilot to be produced!

 We're now into the last stretch of our 30 day campaign and it's been a wild ride to say the least! We've now unlocked our Kickstarter Exclusive Pilot Model, all Squadron Commanders and Combat Ace's will receive her for free and additional ones can be added to any pledge for £8.

Our next Stretchgoal is at £17,500, this will allow us to produce several interesting gaming additions.

The first being a set of Waterslide Transfers for each faction. We will be producing at least 2 sets of transfers per faction and some of the early concept ideas are below! These will be finalised in the coming week or so, long before the Pledge Manager is released. 

Second we will be producing a set of plastic Squadron Stickers that can be placed on the ship base and corresponding Stat-Tracker so they can be easily identified at a glance, again the basic concept has been linked below but the finished items will be shown off for feedback and critique!

 £18,000 Stretchgoal

Should we smash this last Stretchgoal in the closing hours of the campaign, the next stretchgoal will be a Shattered Void-themed storage box for the damage deck and counters used for the game. These will be produced in the three faction colours. These will be produced by a local MDF-terrain production company who have had years of experience and who we have used since our early days of Shattered Void in producing test pieces and other gaming related media.

The Hubris of Mankind - Continued

...What was just as concerning to the world’s leaders, were the reports of the sea levels dropping rather than increasing as expected from the melting of the icecaps. This bemused the oceanographers and environmental scientists as they were unable to establish a casual reason, or even where it was going. Rumours and conspiracies were abound of ‘hollow earth sinkholes’, ‘portals into other dimensions’ accidently created by the new technologies, or even that governments were secretly storing it into massive underground sumps anticipating the calamity that was to come. The only thing agreed upon was that it was happening extremely quickly, and within a few generations, would make the Earth unable to sustain human civilisation.  

Despite attempts to keep such data secret, it was only a matter of time before others detected the phenomena, and the news brought with it yet more panic and chaos as the poorer nations took the brunt of the impending environmental disaster. The united efforts for a new world were pushed to the brink of breaking point, almost completely collapsing under the strain of economic crashes and mass migrations unlike anything the world had ever seen. 

However, the recent hard work undertaken by the consortium of scientists and engineers provided a momentous breakthrough; a new technology had produced the ability to travel faster than light, and bring ever closer the dream of starting a new world. The Superluminal Traverse Apparent-Cavity drive, or STAC drive, worked by creating a bubble of relative space-time generated from a central point. Such a device could enable a craft, and any nearby objects, to travel potentially to nearby planets or even stars in a quicker time than conventional propulsion systems allowed. This provided the rallying cry humanity needed to come together once again to save itself and look to the heavens for salvation.  

New spacecraft were created with this technology in mind, harnessing the experimental STAC drive and so allowed a new generation of explorers and pioneers to quickly travel to other planets in the Solar System in a matter of hours rather than months or years. Test-runs to assess humanity’s ability to colonise a new world took place on Mars and the moons of Jupiter and Pluto. However, time was running out for the populations on Earth, and the new worlds viable for sustaining billions of people needed to be found and established quickly, so as to ferry others to join them and leave earth once and for good.

 We are done!

A huge thank-you goes out to each and every one of our backers, it's been a brilliant ride over the last 30 days and we're glad you've shared it with us!

What happens next? We will now be awaiting for funds to be cleared from Kickstarter, this typically takes around 2-4 weeks. In the meantime we will be working on getting the last bits and pieces finished such as the Talos, Pilot, Rules and finalising some of the remaining bits and pieces - We'll make sure to keep you all updated on what is happening!

The pledge manager has been worked on already so it will be released as soon as possible, when all the items are complete and the funds have cleared. Once it has been released other goals that haven't been met such as the Decals and Storage Box may also be available and unlocked when the Pledge Manager funds are incorporated into the overall goal!
